Wall accent or no accent wall? (coordinating color)?
I'm re-doing my bedroom and painting the ugly, gray walls Child-green Fresh (light-ish). I'm putting in laminate flooring and I'm thinking of putting a cream / carpet as on the ground. All small details aside, I wonder if I should get accent wall or not, and what color? Going behind my bed or on the opposite wall? Thanks for the help! also, keep in mind that I'm trying to keep very modern and contemporary.
If you are going to do an accent wall you would on the wall behind the bed. However, let me say that I believe the accent walls (colors, as they tend to be dark or bold) tend to make a space look smaller. So I suggest you use the bold touches of color in your living room accessories. For example, you could make a bold solid color duvet (with a touch more color in the pillows) or a fabric covered headboard height in a bold color. Colors I would recommend to their otherwise neutral room would all be rich, deep shades – wine, purple, burnt orange, teal green, etc.
